Winter Roundup of NYC Ice Skating Rinks
Christmas in NYC is the most magical time of the year. And the silver lining of 2020 is having no tourists to crowd your view and reduced wait times at your favorite ice rink! Here are our favorite spots to take in the Holiday Décor while getting in some easy exercises.
1. The Rink @ Brookfield Place
Located in our own neighborhood, The Rink is named #1 Rink to skate in New York by Curbed NY and Thrillist! 2020 #1 Outdoor Rink in New York by AAA Northeast Magazine! The Rink has returned for the season!
Hours of Operation:
- Weekdays 2 pm – 9:15 pm
- Weekends 9 am – 9:15 pm
Location: Outside Brookfield Place on the Waterfront Terrace (230 Vesey St)
Fee: Prices vary, starting at $15/hour

2. The Rink @ Bryant Park
The only Rink that allows you to skate for free if you bring your own skates, this famous Rink is also home to the Bank of America Winter Village. All tickets have to be reserved by touchless online orders. There are also dates where they play retro music!

Open now through Jan 3, including holidays
Time: 8 am – 10 pm (check their online schedule; open later on certain days)
Location: Bryant Park (41 West 40th Street)
Fee: Free, if you bring your own skates!

3. The Rink @ Rockefeller Center
Skate under the most famous tree in the world at Rockefeller Center and enjoy all of the Christmas decor on 5th Avenue before or after your time! Open now through Jan 17, including holidays.
Hours of Operation:
9 am-midnight
Location: Rockefeller Center (Enter on 49th Street between 5th and 6th avenues only)
Fee: Prices varies ($5 for children under 5 before 11 am! & free for 1 chaperone)

4. IC Ice Rink @ Industry City
The IC Ice Rink powered by Volvo Car USA is Brooklyn’s best-kept secret as it’s a lesser-known rink, but with all the fun and photo opportunities with their Christmas Decor and roller skating rink and mini golf all within the vicinity. Industry City is worth the trek!

- Thursday’s 4 pm – 8 pm
- Friday’s 12 pm – 8 pm
- Saturday’s 10 am – 8 pm
- Sunday’s 10 am – 6 pm

5. Wollman Rink @ Central Park
Skate in the middle of Central Park near the beloved Central Park Zoo. Wollman Rink ” offers ice hockey, a skating school, party facilities, skate rentals, and lockers. ”
