Urban Stages Summer Camp
PARTNER

We’re seeking theater-loving kids to learn, create, and play at Urban Stages Summer Camp!  In one five-week session, campers ages 10 to 15 will learn as many different aspects of theater as possible: acting, dance, voice, spoken word, playwriting, technical theater, design, and more!  Campers will create an original show and perform it on our off-Broadway stage for their friends and families during the last week of camp.

In 2017, our campers collaborated with each other to write and perform an original musical based off unique characters that they came up with totally on their own.  They even got hands-on experience in designing the set, props, and costumes for the show!  Guest artists came in to teach exciting classes in puppetry, circus arts, stage make-up, African mask-making, and audition technique, just to name a few.  We also took a field trip to see the hit Broadway musical, Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812, and stayed for a post-show talkback with one of the lead actors in the show!

Our small class size (maximum 15 students) ensures that each camper gets individualized attention from our camp staff made up of top-notch theater professionals.  We are conveniently located just two blocks from Penn Station and many subway lines.

Urban Stages is proud to offer affordable camp rates, with some scholarships available!

No audition necessary!  Urban Stages is looking for campers with great attitudes who are passionate about theater. Enroll now and get ready to learn in a creative, supportive environment.

The 2018 session runs from July 2nd through August 3rd (with a day off on the Fourth of July).
