Thanksgiving Ideas

Thanksgiving is a holiday that can be full of fun and tradition. If you have toddlers, plan ahead for some fun games to keep them entertained. Print out some Turkey printables at www.nickjr.com or www.crayola.com for some great coloring and activity pages. It’s all about strategy and execution!

Thanksgiving Pass It

If you have some adventurous Turkey Day guests, purchase enough pairs of chopsticks for each guest at the Thanksgiving table (teaspoons work well too, especially with little tots) and a few small items such as buttons or coins. Divide up teams by the side of the table. Have a race to see who can pass the items down faster by using the chopsticks to pick them up.

Grateful Notes

As each guest arrives, ask them to write down a sentence, describing what they are grateful for. Toddler may need help and you might only get a one or two word answer, but that will work. Then have each note dropped into a glass jar.

Once everyone is sitting down for dinner, have a toddler pick out a note and have the host read off the note and have everyone try to guess who wrote it.

Turkey Toss

Decorate a badminton shuttlecock with feathers and eyes to resemble a Turkey. Once your guests are ready, toss the turkey and the receipient will have 5 seconds to say what they are thankful for and then toss it to the next person until everyone has had a chance to make a “grateful statement”.

Most of all…have fun. Gobble Gobble!
