tenoverten on Fulton. Did you know that FiDi welcomed a premiere nail salon to the neighborhood in October? tenoverten has quickly become a FiDi Families favorite. This is the place to relax and unwind. We recently had a chance to visit their salon at 121 Fulton and the experience did not disappoint. The attentive staff, the decor and environment were incredibly inviting. The clean simple lines of the salon, the tasteful decor and cool vibe were something that FiDi has not seen before. It’s a welcome change and exciting for the neighborhood. The salon also has a great event space for private soirees for groups.

Co-founders, Adair Ilyinsky and Nadine Abramcyk created the tenoverten brand as a response to the lack of proper nail salons in their Tribeca neighborhood. This led for them to create a space that made it possible for clients to relax while enjoying expert services in a comfortable social setting. As both women are moms of toddlers, they became conscious of the harsh chemicals and pollutants that were included in nail polish and have made it their mission to create gorgeous colors and polish formulas that are safe for pregnant women and clients in general. They also want to protect their team of technicians from harsh chemicals and have really made their polish safe for all ages. Children are welcome in the salon for kiddie manicures as well.

All four NYC locations embody a home-like, apartment feel rather than the average nail salon. They recently opened a location in Austin, TX as well. Their team consist of talented and highly trained staff that exhibit customer service tailored to the client’s needs. Their mission is to bring the simple pleasure in getting a manicure and pedicure. The salon is located on the 2nd floor of the building which ensures clients privacy. This guarantees that you won’t see your neighbor walking by as you sit on a stool, drying your nails. This of course, can happen when you are at a ground floor location!

tenoverten’s partner and Creative Director, Jaclyn Ferber, helped to launch the polish and nail care collection as a continuation of the tenoverten mission and brand philosophy. The collection features 8-free long-lasting colors and care that promote stronger and healthier nails.

Valentine’s Day Promotion: Gift set of “8-free polishes” (Jane + Fulton + Carmine), plus a gift certificate for a manicure

What does 8-free mean? All tenoverten nail polish and nail care is free of formaldehyde, dibutyl phthalate (DBP), toluene, formaldehyde resin, camphor, ethyl tosylamide, xylene, and paragons. Clients value their nail care products that provide a more natural alternative to traditional treatments. In addition to 8-free, their products are also cruelty free, vegan, and made in the USA in a factory that honors the Leaping Bunny Program manifesto. This program ensures no animal testing used in any phase of product development by the company, its laboratories, or suppliers.

Their color stories include a unique mix of neutrals, brights, deeps, and metallics, designed to be smooth and streak-free. This makes for easy, at-home application or in the salon. Each tenoverten polish is named after a street in Downtown Manhattan, embodying the essence of their unique surroundings and inspiration.

In addition to nail treatments, the salon offers brow shaping services by Jimena Garcia, one of the leading brow experts in the country. She is a bi-coastal brow extraordonaire and is an in-demand brow guru. The salon recently began offering top of the line waxing services, using the sugaring technique, by an incredible team of industry experts.
