KiwiCo

They make it on every list and there is a reason for that. These boxes are great. They require more parent involvement but it’s pretty stress free! It’s a mixture of STEM and arts/craft projects. Great for one on one time with your child without having to read a novel.

Yoto club

This will become your new obsession! Yoto reads stories to kids, plays podcasts and music all centered around the idea of no screens or extra technology. How it works: a card that has a book loaded onto it gets inserted into a player and then someone reads a book out loud. The club sends you two new book cards a month–let the kids pick from a selection and then they come.

The 411: $9.99 a month or $99 for the year

Honorable mentions

MEL Science kits

Super cool BUT lots of directions for parents so that’s why they make honorable mention. Great boxes for your chemist at heart, not ideal to have around young kids. It’s 8+ and they mean it.

The 411: $25.90 a month

TokyoTreat Box

Another great light reading and junk food box but this one is exclusive to Tokyo. Super fun items each month and always includes a fun toy that the kids love. Lots of US brands like Oreo’s and Kitkats but the flavors featured in Tokyo, like strawberry milk flavored Kit Kat. They always include a fun soda as well, definitely not a healthy box, but a fun one!

The 411: $31.50 a month
