Silent Films/Live Music At Brookfield Place Returns! Leave the kids at home to enjoy a night of Silent Films or Live Music presented as part of WNYC’s annual New Sounds Live concert. The series will return to the Winter Garden at Brookfield Place in February with a slate of four Man Ray films selected by SQÜRL and the U.S. premiere of Blancanieves, the silent hit that swept Spain’s top filmmaking awards in 2013.

The Man Ray films, presented by Arts Brookfield, will be accompanied by world-premiere live music from avant-rock band SQÜRL in an instrumental version represented by Jim Jarmusch and Carter Logan. The Blancanieves screenings will feature a live performance of Alfonso Vilallonga’s original soundtrack performed by the composer himself with the acclaimed new-music ensemble Wordless Music Orchestra. The Winter Garden, one of the city’s top five venues to watch cult films, will host the two film programs on two nights each from February 17 – 20. The programs will be recorded live for future broadcast on WNYC radio’s New Sounds Live, which airs nightly at 11pm on WNYC 93.9FM.

Date: Tuesday February 17th – Friday February 20th

Time: 8p

Location: 230 Vesey Street (Winter Garden at Brookfield Place)
