Pumpkin Carving Contest
Pumpkin Carving Contest. Halloween is almost here! Come kick off the week with this free first annual community event brought to us by The Friends of Washington Market Park.
The contest will be broken down into scariest, funniest, and most creative. Winners will receive prize ribbons. Bring your own pumpkin and enter the contest or stop by to enjoy the display. All are welcome to enter including residents, stores, restaurants, and schools.
If you would like to be apart of the contest bring your completely carved pumpkin to Washington Market Park between 5p and 6p. You cannot carve at the actual event. Electronic candles will be provided to light pumpkins. Judging starts at 6p and winners will be announced shortly after.
Participants are allowed to bring pumpkins home or can leave them to be decoration for the Halloween party and parade the following day. If you choose to display your pumpkin, claim it by Sunday at 3p.
The Friends of Washington Market Park always schedule events with the support of the Department of Parks & Recreation and contributions from neighborhood residents. Keep an eye out for more later this fall.
