NYC Department of Education and Kindergarten Connect Presentation.The Department of Education (DOE) is switching to an online application tool for families whose children will attend kindergarten next Fall. The online application process with Kindergarten Connect begins in January. A child born in 2009 is eligible to start kindergarten in September 2014.
The new single application is designed to allow parents to rank their options in order of preference, with zones and admissions priorities remaining unchanged. The DOE has scheduled a presentation for parents to learn more about how the online application process works. This will be followed by a question and answer session with Daniel Hildreth, from the DOE/Office of Student Enrollment. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the application process and meet other families.
