New Amsterdam Market – Help Find them a new home at the South Street Seaport
The New Amsterdam Market needs a permanent home in the South Street Seaport. As residents of Lower Manhattan and a neighborhood that was deeply affected by Hurricane Sandy, now is the time to band together and help local businesses survive. Part of that effort is to utilize the Fulton Fish Market and Tin Building turn them into a permanent space for the seasonal, outdoor New Amsterdam Market.
Last month, the grassroots group Save Our Seaport, picked up speed to try and get the much needed repairs for these two buildings. According to press reports, there are others in the mix vying for the space.
