It’s My Park Day. Calling all gardening and flower lovers to Washington Market Park. This citywide celebration allows kids to test their skills or learn something new as they work in the park gardens. Park Gardner Richie will instruct children and adults on how to plant bulbs, flowers, and even how to work the soil. Gloves and towels will be provided, but bringing your own is appreciated.
NYC’s Department of Parks and Recreation welcomes the city residents twice a year to support their and celebrate their neighborhood park. Children will walk away with a knowledge of gardening after helping to plant thousands of bulbs this fall. This event is sponsored by The Friends of Washington Market Park. Dress for a mess!
The Friends of Washington Market Park is a non-profit neighborhood organization. They plan free public events in the park and supports park conservation and restoration. They are supported by NYC Department of Parks and Recreation as well as private contributions and donations.
