It's My Park Day at Washington Market Park

Spring is finally here! Are you interested in teaching your kids about gardening and conservation? Take advantage It’s Our Park Day! Stop by Washington Market Park and meet gardener Richie who will instruct children and adults on how to properly plant bulbs, flowers, and work the soil depending on what is needed within the park. The park will provide children’s gardening gloves and trowels, but if you have your own please bring them along.

New York City’s Department of Parks and Recreation asks city residents to come out twice a year to support their neighborhood park – once in the fall and once in the spring. At Washington Market, the day is used to teach children about gardening, and enlist their help in planting thousands of bulbs in the fall and annuals in the spring. For children who like to get their hands dirty, this is the event for them!
