It’s My Park Day at Washington Market Park

It’s My Park Day at Washington Market Park. Dig out the play clothes and bring your children to Washington Market Park to help celebrate the NYC Parks citywide event, “It’s My Park Day”.

The New York City’s Department of Parks and Recreation asks city residents to come out twice a year to support their neighborhood park – once in the fall and once in the spring. The Friends of Washington Market sponsor the event and use this day to teach children a bit about gardening, and to enlist their help in planting thousands of bulbs in the fall and annuals in the spring. 

This annual event, hosted by Friends of Washington Market Park  is very fun and messy and a FiDi Families favorite event. Bring the kids to the beautiful Washington Market Park and help plant flowers alongside the planting experts. Kids will learn about the various flowers that they will be planting as they volunteer alongside other children. Planting tools will be provided. Parents should bring their cameras for some fun photos. And, wipes to clean off dirt-filled hands and smiling faces.
