As most NY’ers are aware, Hurricane Sandy is forcing the City of NY to take several measures to ensure everyone’s safety. All NYC public schools will be closed on Monday and mass transit will be out of service. Most of Lower Manhattan falls within Zone A, which is a mandatory evacuation area. Find out if your home is on the map by logging onto the City website at www.nyc.gov.
If you are staying safe and indoors, make those playdates with friends and neighbors in your apartment building and breakout the arts and crafts to help keep the kids entertained. Create a traveling playdate afteroon and host neighborhood kids for an hour and then move onto to the next neighbors apartment for an hour and move the traveling playdate until it’s nap time or dinner time. Hopefully, you have already stocked up on playdough, crayons and construction paper. If you have power and a printer, log onto www.nickjr.com for some great printables from your kids favorite characters. Either way, get ready to be creative!
