Ring in the New Year with your kids by saying goodbye to 2012 and toasting hellooooo 2013. Whip up a batch of Shirley Temples/Roy Rogers that the kids will love while you pop open the bubbly. All you need is Grenadine, 7Up or similar clear soft drink and Marachino Cherries.

Shirley Temple Recipe:

Fill a kids cup with 7Up to make the drink bubbly, pour enough Grenadine in the clear soda to color it light pink-ish (keep in mind that the more Grenadine you add, the cherrier it tastes). Then, add a cherry (or two…or three or four – if you’re my own kids) and a lemon, lime or an orange slice with a fun straw and letting the “Cheers” begin.

Roy Rogers Recipe:

Same as the Shirly Temple but substitute dark soda such as Coke or Pepsi.

Have a Happy and Safe New Year’s Eve!
