Café Patoro (223 Front St.)
A cozy Brazilian cafe in South Street Seaport, Café Patoro started as a pop-up tent at the Hester Street Fair. New Yorkers were so enchanted by the delicious pão de queijo (naturally gluten-free cheese bread) that owners Geno and Ahla, a husband and wife team, opened a brick-and-mortar location to meet demand.

Open for breakfast and lunch, Café Patoro’s menu has at least one gluten-free item per section. From the signature pão de queijo to a chicken & tapioca crepe to Brazilian truffles, this is the perfect place to seek out a gluten-free taste of Brazil.

Hole in the Wall (15 Cliff St.)
Hole in the Wall is a slow-food oasis. The centerpiece of Parched Hospitality Group’s portfolio (and their first concept), Hole in the Wall is undoubtedly one of the most iconic, experience-driven cafes in FiDi.

With creative, gluten-free dishes composing nearly half of the ever-changing seasonal menu, Hole in the Wall is healthy, delicious, and safe for the whole party.

Burger Village (120 Church St.)
Burger Village is the creation of four Long Islander brothers – Sam, Nick, Vick & Ravi, who strive to serve organic, all natural, antibiotic, and hormone-free meals. The main menu includes clear labeling for gluten-free, vegan, and peanut-free options.

The venue has a dedicated gluten-free fryer, ensuring the tater tots, french fries, sweet potato fries, tenders, and falafels are safe to eat. All meat patties are gluten-free, with either a lettuce wrap or a gluten-free bun.

Carne Mare (89 South St.)
Located on Pier 17, Carne Mare is a two-story venue offering striking views of the Manhattan waterfront and the Brooklyn Bridge during the Saturday & Sunday brunch. The menu by Chef Carmellini and Chef della Cucina Brendan Scott is classic to the traditional Italian chophouse, offering prime cuts of steaks, fine seafood, and Italian specialties.

While the allergen options are unmarked on the main menu, most of the options are naturally gluten-free, and the staff is quite knowledgeable. They are friendly and accommodating, ensuring the whole table finds something exciting to eat.

Notable Mention: Crepe Master (128 E. 7th St)
Though a bit north of FiDi, the East Village’s Crepe Master is a must-try for gluten-free folks. The Japanese Harajuku-style crepes are made from scratch, and the entire menu is gluten-free.

Offering both sweet and savory crepes alongside vegan smoothies and ice cream, Crepe Master is a unique, gluten-free NYC gem easily accessible from FiDi by the 6 and J trains.
