Family Festival at Governors Island!
Family Festival at Governors Island! 11th Annual Family Festival! The Family Festival celebrates the Island, play, and nature! As always, it will kick off an exciting summer of programming on Governors Island. Come for puppet-making with Lisa Abbatomarco, hand-made Trout Crowns and Sharks Galore with NY Aquarium, story-making with Story Pirates, the Central Park Zoo Wildlife Theater’s Butterfly Boogie, Arm of the Sea’s Hook, Line, and Sinker, compost learning and animal care with Earth Matter, flower planting with the Trust for Governors Island, live music, ice cream, face painting and tons of fun!
Environment, conservation, and sustainability are central to the Island’s identity. The Family Festival will explore the intersection of these themes and art making, another major focus of the Governors Island community. This year, the festival will take place in Nolan Park in the Island’s historic district.
