Fall Farm Round-Up: Day Trips for the family

Check out some of our favorite farms to visit in the fall. Whether driving your own car, hopping on the train, or renting a car, don’t miss out on apple picking, cider donuts, and pumpkin patches.

Alstede Farms

This is a family favorite since there is so much to do at this fun farm. Activities include a pumpkin patch, apple picking, and plenty of other pick your own options from flowers to potatoes. Make sure you stop by the Alsted Farm Store for fresh produce, local sweets and treats as well as their famous apple cider donuts. And, all year round you can visit their animal friends: goats, sheep, donkeys, and more!

Queens County Farm Museum

This 47-aces farm includes a greenhouse, petting zoo, hayrides, pick your own pumpkin patch, and their infamous Amazing Maize Maze corn maze. Their seasonal farm stand offers a delicious selection of farm-fresh produce and pies.

Ward’s Pumpkin Patch

This family-owned pumpkin patch has been around since the 1940s! They have a great selection of pumpkins from giant to mini’s, gourds, and squash.

Schmitt Family Farms

This family farm features a pumpkin picking field, an animal train ride, a garden center with plenty of fall flowers to pick, and duck races each weekend. Stop by the Schmitt local store to try their candy apples.
