England Day Garden Party
The English are coming! The English are coming!
Help kick off the 1st annual England Day NYC in Lower Manhattan on Saturday. The event will take place at the Queen Elizabeth II Garden at Hanover Square. The celebration is in honor of St George’s Day and the special relationship between England and the United States. Attendees are encouraged to dress in red and white or as their favorite Englishman or woman. All costumed visitors will be eligible to enter into the best dress contest and have a chance at winning two roundtrip tickets to England on Virgin Atlantic. There are many activities for all ages including a kids area, called Little England with a Lego activation.
Enjoy the family music and entertainment, and take part in the sing-alongs, enter the costume competition and “Show us your Shakespeare!” to commemorate his 400th anniversary.
More than a dozen restaurants throughout Manhattan will be offering specials on food and drink. Check out the list HERE – Our own Pound and Pence on Liberty Street will be offering specials on Friday and Barleycorn in Tribeca is participating as well.
