Duane Park Celebrates Spring on Mother’s Day
Duane Park Celebrates Spring on Mother’s Day. Duane Park is hosting a spring flower planting day and celebration in honor of Spring. It also happens to be on Mother’s Day, so what better way to start off the day than a visit to this lower Manhattan gem? Stop by the park where you can pot your own gorgeous plants, the kids will be able to visit a petting zoo and everyone has a chance to listen to fantastic Brazilian music! Plus, there will be yummy snacks provided by GoGo squeeZ.
Duane Park was the first public space acquired by the City specifically for use as a public park. This park and the adjacent street take the name of James Duane (1733-1797), who was New York’s first mayor after the Revolutionary War.
It will be a great way to kick off Mother’s Day and all families in Lower Manhattan are invited to attend this Spring celebration.
