Danimals recently unveiled their new Danimals Superstars Greek yogurt line for kids and FiDi Families was invited to the amazing Chelsea Piers to learn about this great addition to their product line. One of the great benefits to the yogurt is the healthy amount of protein in each serving; 10 grams. For a Mom with a picky eater, finding a way to include protein in kids meals can be tough. There is no high fructose corn syrup, which is a common ingredient in yogurt and they have made a big effort to include Calcium and Vitamin D. Dairy is an important part of kids diets and the new Danimals Superstars Greek yogurt helps ensure that dairy is in their diet. According to national guidelines, kids need 3 servings of dairy products a day for strong bones and a strong immune system.
Dr. Tanya Altmann was a featured speaker at the event and she was a great source of knowledge regarding dietary needs and nutrition for kids. As a leading pediatrician, her participation in the event was great because she was able to answer many questions posed by the group, regarding health, nutrition and dietary restrictions. One of her tips was to substitute almond butter for peanut butter, if children have a nut allergy or to simply replace with a healthier choice. Danimals Greek yogurt is a great base for smoothies for both kids and adults.
So, go out and try this new yummy treat that is geared towards kids, but grownups will enjoy, too. Thanks to Danimals, Dr. Tanya and Chelsea Piers!
