Governors Island LogoHop on the Governors Island Ferry this weekend and observe living historians re-enact Civil War life as a solider with camp, musket and cannon firing demonstrations. The National Park Service is host to the weekend activities which will mark the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg and the New York Draft Riots.

FiDi Families Insiders: Take the ferry from the Battery Maritime Building, on the corner of South and Whitehall Streets. First ferry departs at 10a and every half hour afterwards until 7p.
