Children’s Museum of the Arts – great program for autistic families
The Children’s Museum of Art is a super fun spot to take kids of all ages to in Lower Manhattan. There are a ton of activities for all ages. They also offer a really great program geared towards children with autism. The program is known as ‘Stripes’ and it’s a free program, upon registration.
Stripes provides a free opportunity for children with autism, their siblings & parents to engage in visual art making, creative performing experiences, and imaginative play that will help to develop social interaction, communication skills, dexterity, and self expression in a non-threatening community environment. This program is supported in part by grants from the George Link, Jr. Foundation and the CIGNA Foundation.
With the temps dropping, finding a fun and safe environment is key to a fun winter. Stop by the CMOA and have fun!
