Children’s Book Weekend on Governor’s Island

The Summer season on Governor’s Island opened early this year. May 1st was the kick off to the outdoor season on Governor’s Island. The Empire State Center for the Book will host a Children’s Book Weekend to celebrate. Bring your own blanket and set up on the grass as over a dozen children’s authors come together to read stories on the front porch. Be sure to explore all of Governor’s Island, as there are a multitude of activities happening every weekend. We love the slides, the hammocks and the playground.
