Breathing Water Family Event
Breathing Water Family Event. Start off the series of free family art workshops every Saturday this October. This event series is inspired by water and appropriately located at the Seaport.
This Saturday you are invited to make a bio-sand filter in a bottle. Experimental learning will allow children to learn through the use of sand and water to explain how water is filtered in the wild. You and your children will have time to test and play around with your very own mini-model. This workshop will help teach your kids a complex concept in a simple and enjoyable way.
OHorizons will be at this Saturday’s workshop. OHorizons is a non-profit organization that provides water filters around the world for clean drinking water for the developing world. Come enjoy their demonstration on water filters and listen to their stories about water issues everywhere.
Families are also invited to bring their children to enjoy touchable-art. This week Teresa Diehl’s Breathing Waters will be featured. Stop by every Saturday for the rest of the month to learn more about the relationship that Lower Manhattan has with water through crafts and educational workshops.
