The South Street Seaport Museum invites guests to discover the treasures hidden inside Schermerhorn Row, one of the oldest warehouses of New York City, and home of the Seaport Museum. The museum is a historical landmark and holds many mysteries and secrets that will captivate visitors.
Guests will visit a section of the museum that is usually closed to the public, and have a chance to view selected artifacts from the Museum’s permanent collection, as well as walk through the hidden hotel and saloon rooms made famous by New Yorker Magazine writer Joseph Mitchell’s short story “Up in the Old Hotel”.
Due to the fragile nature of the preserved rooms and the need to climb several flights of stairs (47 steps,) entry to the fourth floor will be limited. Access will be through an exclusive guided tour only. Space is limited.
