Annual Children’s Festival: Celebrate Hawai’i. If Hawai’i is on your “bucket list” but you don’t have a flight booked yet, have no fear. Take a stroll to the National Museum of the American Indian at the foot of Battery Park. Join local families and help celebrate the culture and traditions of Native Hawai’i. Visitors will have a chance to watch a surfboard carving demonstration by the amazing Tom Pohaku Stone. There will also be traditional Hawai’ian dances led by Daniel Kaimana Pueo Seuli Chee. Plus, kids and the grownups will have a chance to participate in kapa stamping, creating leis and kukui nut bracelets. All to take home!

The National Museum of the American Indian–New York, the George Gustav Heye Center, is located within the historic Alexander Hamilton U.S. Custom House. It has been offering an amazing offering of children’s programming over the last year and FiDi Families encourages families to visit this beautiful Smithsonian institution.
