Peck Slip School Announces Full-Time Pre-Kindergarten Classes for 2015.
Many parents in Lower Manhattan have been crossing their fingers that full-time pre-kindergarten seats would become available at the newest public school, PS 343/Peck Slip School. The wait is over and it has been announced that the Peck Slip School will be adding two new pre-kindergarten classrooms to its new building in September. The current school is housed at an incubator site at City Hall and the new location is at the former Peck Slip Post Office. The building is slated to open in time for the upcoming school year in September.
If you live in New York City and your child was born in 2011, he or she is eligible to attend pre-K in September 2015. The application period is from Monday, March 16 to Friday, April 24, 2015. Things to Know: Pre-k is free for NYC families. There are two programs available…half-day mornings or afternoons (2.5 hours) or full-day (6.20 hours). Applications can be submitted in person or online.
