1st Day of School and Tips for Success!

1st Day of School and Tips for Success!

1st Day of School and Tips for Success! Parents in New York City and around the country have been sending their kids off to their first day of school over the last few weeks and its been fun to listen to the stories of friends and strangers alike, about their first day of school experiences. For my family, we will be crossing the 1st grade milestone and couldn’t be more excited. But, as we have approached this day, I will admit it has made me sad to realize my 5 3/4 year old (he makes a point to add the 3/4 in every time he is asked his age), is about to enter the 1st grade and a new mix of students and adventures. My husband and I have found ourselves scrolling through our old photos and reveling in newborn and 1st birthday parties for my son and his younger sister. I will admit that I miss the days of the kids being tiny and smelling like only a newborn can smell. But, it’s a lot more engaging now, to have conversations with my little one’s and realize that they aren’t so little anymore. It’s a bittersweet time for parents everywhere but I’m really excited about the possibilities and the future, as I know many of my fellow parents are feeling as well.

FiDi Families Tip for 1st Day Success: The Big ‘O’ as in ORGANIZED!

Get the kids to bed on time, get their clothes out the night before, pack their lunch box the night before the big day and set an early am alarm for everyone.

Danimals Greek Single

Danimals Greek – This is a go-to item for our family. With 10g of protein per 4oz cup and a good source of calcium and vitamin D, we are happy to include this in our school lunch box. And, the flavor that is our favorite is the Strawberry Banana Sprint.

Bitsys Brainfood Bitys’s Brainfood – This is a great lunchbox snack that sneaks in great nutrition in the form of a cracker or cookie. My kids love the broccoli flavor.

So, enjoy the 1st day! I will be the one with the box of Kleenex!
