We here at FiDi Family sure do love Halloween and there is no shortage of fun activities in Lower Manhattan–and lots of spooky creativity on display in nearly every building lobby and store front. Read on for a round-up of all the happenings in our hood!

Tribeca:
1. Cricket’s Candy Creations has some major Halloween fun planned this year! Starting on October 7th, through the month of October, they will host Halloween-themed candy crafting tours! Creators will make fun and delicious candy crafts, including Candy Corn Slime, Crazy Candy Apples, and Marshmallow Ghosts. Tickets may be purchased for candy crafting tours, pumpkin decorating, and more!

Their Halloween Spook-tacular is October 28th! Families can supplement their candy crafting tour with a costume parade, trick-or-treating, decorate a pumpkin from a real pumpkin patch, enjoy apple cider donuts, and more!

2. Washington Market Park is the place to be during Halloween Weekend. The Annual Pumpkin Carving Competition is on Saturday, October 26, from 3-6 PM. The pumpkins will be judged in five categories including cutest, scariest, funniest, most creative, and most realistic. Check their website for details.

And don’t forget! The WMP Annual Halloween Parade, led by The Queer Big Apple Corps, is Sunday October 27 at 1 PM. Don your costume and meet at Hubert Street and Greenwich St at 12:45pm to join the procession.

3. Halloween isn’t just for KIDS! The Craft Studio has Halloween fun for all ages from toddler to adult! You can book a Halloween-themed To Go party, in-studio party, play date, or workshop. Why not host Spooky Cocktails and Pumpkin Carving for the grown-ups? Or creepy crafts in the Tribeca Studio for the kiddos?

Battery Park City:
1. Governor’s Island: Pumpkin Point is back! Head to this annual pumpkin patch on October 21-22 or 28-29 from 10 AM to 5 PM. Located in historic Nolan Park, you will find over 1000 pumpkins and activities for visitors of all ages. Check their website for ferry times and other information here.

2. Brookfield Place will have their annual Halloween Bash on Saturday, October 28 between 12 to 3 PM! Trick or treating throughout the food court and all of the retail vendors. Bring your costume-clad kids for a FANGtastic afternoon of activities. For more information check out their website here

3. Who doesn’t love a dog in costume? Saturday, October 28th the Annual BPC Dogs Halloween Puppy Parade will return to the BPC Esplanade at the South Cove and walk down the waterfront to the North Cove Marina (Volleyball Court) where you and your dog can strut your stuff in front of a panel of judges. All dog owners and dogs (in costume!) should meet at 11:50am.

FiDi and The Seaport:
1. Halloween House at The Oculus. From Friday, September 29 through Wednesday, November 1, Halloween House will take over the Oculus at 185 Greenwich Street with immersive themed rooms…a Glow in the Dark space, a mysterious Vampires' Lair, a Horror Movie Graveyard, and an indoor pumpkin patch.

We’re happy to report that this all-ages Halloween House has NO actors, jump scares, or strobe lights. No gross-outs or gruesome displays. Buy tickets at the Halloween House website. Adult entry is $40, kids are $35.

2. The South Street Seaport’s Annual Pumpkin Festival is free to the public and runs from October 1 through November 7. There are so many Halloween activities and happenings from Fulton Street to Pier 17, it is hard to list them all. A few of our favorites are the 10-foot-tall Pumpkin Arch on the Heineken Riverdeck, the amazing pumpkin patch that takes over Fulton Street, and spooky movies on the Roof at Pier 17. Check out The Seaport website for more information. Don’t forget to hit the Seaport Kids Halloween Block Party on Saturday, October 28 from 11 AM to 1 PM. There will be live music performance from urban cowboy musician Hopalong Andrew, pumpkin-decorating, face-painting, trick or treating, and STEM activities. (Free RSVP)!

3. The Cauldron NYC is located on historic Stone Street, and it is the perfect setting to get in the mood for Halloween. We love the cobblestone streets, spooky décor, wizard tea and potion making. This year they are offering Halloween Potion making. Book here for a fun and spooktacular experience.

Greenwich Village:
1. The Halloween Kids Spooky Cruise is the perfect weekend activity for your young trick or treaters. With two haunted decks filled with festive fun, your kids can enjoy unlimited Halloween-themed candies, character performances, crafts, games, face painting and more! Cruises are limited but are still available for October 19, 20, 26, 27 and 31. Book here for a day of festive fun where you can also enjoy the beautiful Manhattan skylines. Tickets start at $49 for kids and $59 for adults.

2. The Annual Children’s Halloween Festival at Bleecker Playground is scheduled for Sunday, October 27 and is a low-key activity for children ages 2 to 8. The parade and festival runs from 10 AM to 2 PM and includes face painting, trick-or-treating, craft tables, entertainers, live music and phot booths. Check out their website here for more details.
