It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Kick off the holiday season on December 2 with the Seaport District’s Annual Holiday Tree Lighting. The evening, hosted by Cubby and Christine from 106.7 LITE FM, kicks off with a special charitable presentation to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, one of the nation’s leading industry-based HIV/AIDS fundraising and grant-making organizations, and A Place for Kids, a nonprofit organization providing safe and educational after school programs for elementary school children in the New York City Chinatown Area.

Following the presentation, enjoy traditional carols from a local choir along with performances by the Broadway casts of Phantom of the Opera and Mean Girls.

While in the neighborhood, meet The Very Hungry Caterpillar character in celebration of The Very Hungry Caterpillar Experience taking place at the South Street Seaport Museum. Find themed kid activities, free popsicles and more presented by FiDi Families.

Pick up your season membership for the Winterland Ice Rink and get special neighborhood pricing along with some Winterland swag. Warm up with hot chocolate and cups of mac & cheese with proceeds going to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids and A Place for Kids.

Plus, don’t miss the After Party on The Rooftop at Pier 17 starting at 8 pm, featuring ice skating and free performances by Ingrid Michaelson and DJ Whutever.
