Animation Nights New York (ANNY), is a monthly curated animation screening event in New York City. ANNY will be hosting its 4th Annual Best of Fest on October 5th and 6th from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM each day at 180 Maiden Lane.
The festival will present twenty hand-picked animated short films from countries around the world, including but not limited to: Belgium (“Sweet Night” by Lia Bertels), Brazil (“The Egg Job” by Guilherme Krolow), France (“Keep Your Hair On, Oliver” by Armelle Mercat), Israel (“Hounds” by Ido Shapira and Amit Cohen), and Japan (“My Little Goat” by Tomoki Misato).
The festival will also include ANNY Exchange, a networking opportunity that connects talent to cross-reality (XR) & traditional projects via both in-person and online events. Professional Panels and Industry Round-Tables will include topics such as:
“Hiring and Recruiting”, “Animation in Emerging Technology”, “Women in the Workplace”, and “The Importance of Story”.
The Virtual Reality & Augmented Reality Showcase will showcase both in-competition and invitational projects from studios such as: Penrose Studios, Baobab Studios, Cartoon Network, NYU Future Lab / Parallux, etc. as well as game demos from IGDA NY.
Festival partner Anderson Contemporary, founded by Ronni Anderson in 2015, will curate the fourth edition of Art in Motion which will featuring both traditional and interactive works. ANNY’s monthly screenings and the Best of Fest gather talented works and people from across the globe to connect and enjoy the fruits of their labor.
