Sing for Hope. Celebrate 8 years of The Sing for Hope Pianos, a community arts program, with a launch event in the heart of the Financial District. The Sing for Hope Pianos program has placed 500 public instruments throughout NYC, making the city host to more street pianos than any other in the world. The 2019 Sing for Hope Pianos have been designed by local and international artists including Playbill and the Broadway casts of Mean Girls, Dear Evan Hansen, and giant Playbill.
Sing for Hope selects local and international artists to design and create works of art, directly onto pianos that are then placed in parks and other public spaces for two weeks every summer. Through a special partnership with the New York City Department of Education, Sing for Hope will then place all of the Sing for Hope Pianos permanently in NYC public schools, benefiting thousands of school children. One piano also will be donated to one of the NY-area veterans’ care centers where Sing for Hope provides year-round arts programming.
Be sure to stop by this incredible display of music, creativity and the arts in the heart of the Financial District.
