One of our favorite indoor playspaces, event venues and fun destinations for children is Citibabes in SoHo. Though, the trek from FiDi was easy enough, it certainly would have been more enjoyable if it was a little closer. So, we were excited to learn that this 11 year old institution for families is making its way south to Tribeca. The new Citibabes location will be a brand new light-filled, three-story loft building located at 142 Duane Street.
We had a chance to learn about the new enhancements and offerings, after chatting with their marketing team. The new space will include 7 classrooms for their preschool program, including Spanish and Mandarin immersion classes. The split-level layout will allow the team to offer full-day child care and extended day programming for children 12 months old and older but will also offer enrichment programming for the entire community. New to their programming is the incorporation of age-appropriate meditation exercises into all of our classes.
And, as any parent knows, movement is critical at a young age and allowing kids to stretch and run is really important. The new space at Citibabes will include a new tumble gym for open play. It is a mixed-use space, which means that they are planning on offering parenting seminars, workshops, children’s concerts and will continue to offer their well-loved birthday parties.
