River to River Family Festival
The gorgeous Governor’s Island turns into a giant playground for one day thanks to Come Out and Play. The festival of games and activities is based on a time travel theme, so you can find adventures in both the Dark Ages and in the space-age future! Games are especially geared towards kids age 6-11, but the whole family can have fun here at this part of the River to River Festival. The last day of the R2R Festival is July 14th so come out and celebrate.

Fete Paradiso Traveling Festival
Fete Paradiso launches Saturday on Governor’s Island, a spectacular collection of vintage carousels and carnival rides. From traditional merry-go-’rounds to more unique rides, visitors both young and old will be able to experience this magnifique festival in Nolan Park through the end of September. Set against the backdrop of the Governors Island’s historic district, Fete Paradiso features French music and a beer garden catered by Le Gamin.

Cost: Admission is free and rides cost $3/per ride

Bang on a Can All-Stars
The Bang on a Can All-Stars celebrate the season in two outdoor* concerts on Governors Island Colonels Row. It’s a great way to engage kids in music.

FiDi Families Insiders: Take the ferry from the Battery Maritime Building, on the corner of South and Whitehall Streets. Ferries leave at 10a, 11a and every half hour after until 7p. Return ferries to Manhattan leave every half hour beginning at 10:30a with the last ferry departing Governors Island at 7p.
