Stephen Petronio Company at Brookfield Place

Stephen Petronio Company at Brookfield Place. Arts Brookfield presents Stephen Petronio Company on the Winter Garden stage at Brookfield Place. The dance company’s afternoon presentation will feature “Locomotor/Non Locomotor,” choreographed by Stephen Petronio with costumes by Narciso Rodriguez and music by Clams Casino. This show was first presented in April 2015 at the Joyce Theater.

Evening performance includes Merce Cunningham’s “RainForest,” with decor by Andy Warhol and musical score by David Tudor. This performance traces Petronio’s choreographic lineage through postmodern icons and is from the  choreographer’s project, BLOODLINES.

The Stephen Petronio Company has over thirty years of experience creating work with their company. Petronio has pushed the limits and dance norms through his use of movement language. His unique language portrays the possibilities of the body and represents shifting cultural moment. He fosters the ideas of dancers with an interest in history and a unique art of dance.

BLOODLINES is a project that honors the lineage of American postmodern dancers. Petronio now focuses on a dialogue that speaks to the larger context of his foundations.
