Summertime day trips can be tricky because it can involve a lot of planning and strategy; getting out of the City and beating the traffic, to planning naps in the car or train and making sure you time it so that you and your little one’s are not in transit when they should be eating breakfast, lunch or dinner. It is why one of our favorite places to visit is the LEGOLAND® Discovery Center in Westchester. It’s an easy drive from Lower Manhattan and well worth the 40 minute drive to this super kid-friendly destination. The indoor facility is located at Ridge Hill which offers plenty of food options and for kids that will nap in a stroller, an easy place to take some stroller laps while little one’s catch some z’s.
With Lego workshops offered throughout the day, an indoor carousel and a ton of playspace, this is a great place, especially when its hot outdoors. It’s a great alternative to a day at the beach, if you have kids that are interested in the Lego bricks. With 2 kiddie rides, a 4-D cinema and cafe on site, it’s a great place to explore with your kids.
